    and interms of being humane. how is feeding live worse than some dude gassing the mouse or breaking its neck then stuffing it into a cute little package and

    We've fed mice, we've fed rats, we've offered them f/t, p/k and live. We are currently on live only rats but in no way would I say this is the "only" way to feed a ball python nor put myself forth as any type of expert.

    For Mike and I, it will always be about offering the highest quality prey item in the most efficient, cost effective and healthy manner to a snake with a consistently excellent feeding response....end of story. How a person accomplishes that goal is, as far as I'm concerned, up to them.

    My only comment and this is not meant as an advocation of live feeding over any other method, is this....there is nothing inherently inhumane in feeding live prey to a snake. Mother Nature isn't a fool. Evolution has nicely taken care of the predator/prey dynamic so a healthy, hungry snake is quite able to manage an appropriately sized live prey item as long as we humans don't do our usual messing up of the natural processes.

    Let's keep it a respectful, friendly discussion folks. :)
