Yep! He kicked my butt! To date that was probably (knock on wood) my worst bite. I think I limped for a week!

I just saw one of those the other day. He was not happy, but he was newly arrived. He was trying to nail anything that got close. Is that just a normal trait? How big was the one that got you?

LOL I remember when Brannagh was new to the house and trying her best to nail Mike and I. I was, in a wierd way too, anticipating the bite. Just to get past the bit of fear I had of a larger snake nailing me even with gloves on (my mama didn't raise no fools and that's one big female with attitude LOL).

When she did finally manage to tag me a good one and got a tooth through the glove it turned out to be no major thing at all. Hate to say it but I've been bit FAR worse by my own children! Oh and it was my own fault of course. I learned when grabbing on to a large snake in a "mood" don't hesitate, don't overthink it, don't show fear....just commit and do it! Brannagh caught me and I learned but then so apparently did she, as her temperment did show improvement along the way.

Usually our rhinos are sweet as pie...Bulldozer was just being a dominant male that day. He's the one on the right in this pic...weighs 18 lbs, +/-.

This is 2 days after he grabbed the inside of my right thigh & wouldn't let go. Old pic w/crappy camera, but I think it gets the point across. ;)

That bite looks incredibly painful. *cringe* How long are they, as adults?

I'd be lying if I said it didn't hurt. He held on for a good 30 seconds or so, and the bite pressure was pretty darn impressive. It's the only bite I've ever had that made my eyes water uncontrollably...not crying per se, but just hurt bad enough to make my body go "WTF just happened here?!?!?!?!"

Our adults are around three-and-a-half feet long, STL. They are easily, easily my favorite bigger lizards...OODLES of personality & charm! :D

That's pretty cool, you can still say that after having your thigh put in a vice. LOL!

Yeah isent that weird? the speed of the bites usually suprise you so you got some shock and with some larger snakes added pain yet we still kinda like it...like a battle scare lol
