Re: Your ultimate BP/herp goals..
my goal is to get one... not a long term goal tho!
Re: Your ultimate BP/herp goals..
I'm in the same boat as Tosha. I'm just taking it slow and keeping it simple for now. Unfortunately, none of my friends have snakes so no breeding will occur unless my cousin buys one . He wants a Columbian red tail though.
Re: Your ultimate BP/herp goals..
To produce some great morphs and sell them to help fund the snake hobby.
It'd also be nice to produce some other herps and inverts to sell as well.
Re: Your ultimate BP/herp goals..
My plans are to breed snakes. I have one pair going this year (normal california kingsnake x albino stripe cali king) and several pairs ready for next season.
One of my hardest to attain goals is to successfully breed boelen's pythons. Those snakes make me swoon.. LOL
Someday down the road I want to have my own reptile zoo and display many different species.
Re: Your ultimate BP/herp goals..
I guess our ultimate goal is to be respected breeders whether we produce one clutch a year or 100. To build a reputation slowly that we are proud of, so our snakes go out to their new owners carrying that reputation for quality and health, whether they are the most "normal" normal or the most "wow" morph.
I just dream of one day seeing a post in bpnet that says "look at this beautiful snake Jo and Mike bred and how well it's doing for me!". Maybe that's my ego talking or just my passion for ball pythons, but the thought of a baby snake born in our collection, then going on to be a future breeder for it's new owner or a well loved pet, just gives me the happy shiver thing.
Specifically though one day, some day if the BP Gods of Genetics love me dearly, I do so want to breed my very own Caramel Glow! Mike is more into the genetics thing and figures constantly about this recessive and that recessive and double and triple "threats" till my head swims LOL.

Re: Your ultimate BP/herp goals..
My goal is to move out as soon as possible so I dont have to listen to my mom yaping saying I have too much snakes. Then at the new house ill have a seprate "guess house" where the guess wont stay, but the snakes will and I plan on breeding ball pythons and red tail boas..... this is far in the future!
