    Thanks Medusa!

I had really bright overhead lighting with the flash so it made his colors really pop, plus it helped that he just had finished shedding not too long before so he was really light and bright anyways, that's about the best picture I've taken to capture his true colours.

I initially took that photo so I could use it to measure how long he is for my records, but I don't know what program that it is to use.

    nice healthy looking snakes!

you don't have to have a fancy cam to take good pics. any 3meg or higher will do fine. a plain tripod(20-30$) and a coupe of bright lights will work wonders! if your lights are harsh or bright try using a white sheet to diffuse or shine through.

Thanks kavmon. My camera is decent, I just want an SLR digi so I can play with macro modes, and different zoom lenses for not only capturing herps on film, but also pics of my reef tank, and other projects.

Thanks! He's as mellow as a puppy dog, even when he's in shed I can clean the cage without worry. Q on the other hand gets a bit ornery if I mess with her hide for cleaning. So yes I like to handle Sho a bit more, plus he's so photogenic.:P

If "Oh, very clever, Worf. Eat any good books lately?" means anything to you, then that's very possible. ;)

This is the link to the program that you may be talking about where you measure the snake from a direct overhead picture (with a known length object in the photo to compare to). I usually take three seperate photo's and then use the average of them as you can different lengths depending on slight camera angles.
