(Off topic for a sec..) Hypomelanastic (Ghost) is a Simple Recessive trait.

(Back on topic..) You're still talking about three generations (at least) to get to a double homozygous animal from two pairs of hets.

Gen 1 = Het Hypo x Het Hypo & Het Caramel x Het Caramel (hopefully yeild 1.1 homozygous Hypo's and Caramels from each clutch..)

    Gen 2 = Hypo x Caramel = 2.2 DH Caramel Glow

Gen 3 = DH CG x DH CG = 1/16 Caramel Glow, 3/16 Caramel Poss Het Hypo, 3/16 Hypo Poss Het Caramel, 9/16 Normal Poss Het Hypo, Poss Het Caramel

So if you luck out with your odds and hit the double homozygous on that third generation's first breeding, then we're only talking about 8 to 9 years.

I've always loved "some assembly required" so recessives are right up my alley! LOL

I'm not a patient person by nature, so recessives are just torture! But apparently I'm a masochist. :imslow:
