I don't mind saying. I'm in Sacramento California and the shop is called Kasch's Kritters, and I'm talking about Mr. Kasch himself. Let's just say I *won't* be acquiring my tarantula, when I'm ready for it, from him, as previously planned.

Thanks. It helps to warn people sometimes.

There's a shop here in Columbus, Ohio that gives out misinformation sometimes as well, just to make a sale. They don't treat their critters very well, either. It's really annoying. They're the only place to buy live mice around else I wouldn't go there.

I've recently had to give injections for the first time - to an adult corn. I'd never, ever given anyone/thing an injection before and was nervous - but it turned out to be quite easy. The vet showed me exactly where to go into the skin (between the scales) and at a 45 degree angle to the side (like the others have mentioned). A pity your reptile shop is so crap - I'm lucky that mine is excellent and the owner is really good - so I went to him to do my first injection under supervision. We're now on oral antibiotics for the snake - and they are a lot harder to do - mainly because corns are sooo wiggly, especially when they know what's coming :)

Good luck with the treatment for Duchess and I hope she's better soon.
