Razaiel - Corn snakes are known to be cannibalistic. I don't care how long they have lived together, something could set one off one day and you could end up with one eating the other.

As 'cute' as they look curled up together, I promise you they are not bonded to each other, or care at all about the other one. Snakes are not social and have no use for affection or bonding of any kind.

If one corn snake gets sick, they both get sick. That means double the vet bills.. it's all around no good. Snakes living together are stressed.

Do them a favor and seprarate them.

    Hi Shelby

Thanks for the info - guess they must have been lucky so far. It really eases my mind too as to my next step - we got these two as rescues and don't really want to keep them ourselves. One of our reptile guys we knows who breeds is interested in them but he would have separated them - and we (mistakenly) thought they might not like being separated - so I'll be contacting him today. Thank goodness for this forum - I'm only used to having my little solitary BP and am learning all the time :)

Sounds like you've found a nice home for them. That's good. :)

The dividers sound good but nothing is better than one snake per enclousure.

    I would definitly separate them.

good luck with your rescues :)

Thank you - yes, they now have a good home. Our reptile guy took one look at them and declared them both to be female (owners thought they were male and female) so they're now with him. The other rescue we kept (a large anerythristic corn which the previous owners had kept in with these other two) she's on vet care for a bite (though owners later told us it was ticks) which went ulcerous and they couldn't be bothered to take it to vet :/ - the history for this one is on "Royal Corn Snake???" thread. I'm sorry I've hijacked this thread Blizzard - I really hope your Houdini turns up soon.
