First of all, welcome to the site. You obviously have a lot to learn about reptile husbandry and I would recommend that you do some searching and reading up on topics here that we have covered before.

    Some search terms may be:
    "Keeping two snakes together"
    "proper temperatures"
"pastel ball python" (if you got an adult male ball python for less than $500, hate to say, its probably NOT an actual pastel)

50-70 degrees on the cool side of the enclosure is too cold. Your snakes will eventually get respitory infections and die.

You need to separate your snakes. There are more than a few professional breeders on this board with more collective experience than all of us noobs combined. I'd listen to them before I decided that my way was the right way. You may say that they "seem" fine and happy, but I don't think you have enough knowledge to even guage what things to look for in a happy healthy snake.

I don't mean to sound condescending, I just want to make sure we have your attention. If you do everything right, you will have a positive experience with these guys and many years of rewarding experiences to come.

Look I've seen how you guys turn innocent things into a flame war..so I'm goign to say that my snakes are fine the way they are.
I've heard both good and bad things fo keeping two snakes together. And so far keeping them together is a good thing. If they show any signs other wise, they will be separated.
My appartment is fairly cool so I keep then warm and since they keep on the warmer side of the tank I'd say they were comfortable there in the temperature they are.
As for the price I paied for my newer pythons, everyone was very surprised as to the price I paied. But the guy was desparet to get rid of them and they checked out at the vet fine.

So yea. End this here. I'm not up for arguing with people I dont' even know and who's opinion is already focused on one thing. It's like a muslam forcing his religion on a christian. Nither will waver.

Cool, well I'm sure most of us want to see a pic of the pastel, I looked in your gallery and didn't see one in there. Did you post it somewhere else?

No one is forcing anything on you. They are trying to give you good advice. Please keep an open mind for the sake of your animals. You have spent a good sum on them, you should study and work diligently to protect your investment. I am only asking you to study all the information out there and make an informed decision. There are good people in this forum who care about animals. They aren't trying to beat you up, they are trying to help you keep your animals healthy. In the title of this thread you admit you're a "noob", learn from others so that your animals can be healthier.

    No, actually it's not.

It's like people with knowledge and experience trying to help someone that is new to keeping snakes.

FACT - Ball pythons exposed to temperatures in the range you admitted to will eventually get sick and if left untreated ... die.

FACT - Housing multiple ball pythons in the same enclosure WILL cause stress on one or more of them.

FACT - Ball pythons will eat each other when stressed.

FACT - Stress is not something that you can "look for" ... being new to the species and new to snakes in general, how would you even know what it looks like?

These aren't opinions. These are facts documented not only by people that have been keeping these animals for years, not only by professional breeders that make their living keeping and caring for these animals, but by scientists that dedicate their lives to the study of reptiles.

If two people were going back and forth spinning their wheels calling each other names I would maybe consider this thread a "flame" ... but all I see is a bunch of caring snake owners with a lot more experience than you trying to prevent you from making mistakes that have already been made.

Didn't you post that you've already lost one ball python? Maybe some of this advice will prevent that from happening again. ;)

Maybe this and the other thread should both be combined and filed under S for silly. Unfortunately this person has chosen to believe some unnamed experts rather than the experienced, professionals that post here regularly and breed, sell and keep healthy hundreds upon hundreds of snakes. Nobody will convince her and I am calling "creature under the bridge" on this one anyway. You can lead a horse to water...

Well, only time will tell, if it becomes neccessary, I WILL lock both topics down for the sake of keeping it peaceful around here.
