Has the frog maintained that particular color from the first time you saw him, or has his color changed at all? Where was he found (outside, in your home...?), and does he seem healthy (moist skin, alert, etc.)?

It still could be one of your "native" frogs. If you read the article I found, it also says there are a few species no one has seen in awhile. There is a possibility that this may be one of them, and that would be why you are not able to identify this frog for what it seems to be. I would contact local herpetologist or some authority in your place of residence and show them this specimen and/or pics, get thier opinions, it is after all, them who would know better than any of us. And besides, it is better than guessing right? What if you have found one of the species that seems to have disappeared? This could be an awesome find that I am sure Puerto Rico herpetologists would want to know about. Furthermore, if it is one of those species, you would not want to keep it, rather turn it over to some official or release it back into the wild, cause where there is one, there may be more even without you realizing this, even though you have been in Puerto Rico all your life. Sometimes, we dont notice things like this, even though we have grown up in a certain area, until we stumble across one.

OK, I just had a friend of mine look at your pics, he grew up in Puerto Rico, he is most likely MUCH older than you, he is around 50.... he says it is a coqui, but is not sure of which species.

yep that looks like it....it is fun to identify stuff.....so it is not a native species. That is sad that is eating the native Coqui.
