    I'd do exactly what the breeder suggested. It's best to make no changes to their food for a little while, otherwise the snake is MORE likely to refuse to eat, & that is just not fun. :rolleyes: It's disorienting enough to be shipped & in an unfamiliar place...don't mess with his familiar food, for heaven's sake!

    It's also helpful to house him in a similar manner to how he was kept before. In other words, don't plop a new & frightened snake into a huge "mansion" when he's used to living in a "cave" (aka tub). Make changes gradually, & remember the less stress you cause a snake, the better their immune system functions also, to keep them healthy.

    Worry about "transitioning" later, after he is settled in & feeding regularly for you at normal intervals. It's also important to feed the same KIND of rodents, because rats & mice smell & taste different (or so they say, lol- I haven't actually tried them myself, hahaha!).

    I have to say this is by FAR the best community I have ever experienced! Thank you so much for your thoughtful and caring responses. We are so excited about our new pet. I just want to make sure he has the best home possible.
