    I know...he could get under it, I wasn't trying to sound like it wasn't a problem. I'll get it fixed tonight...I just had never bothered to take a temp under the paper, and this is my first T-stat.

    I'm sorry if I sounded like I was yelling at you.. I just don't want your snake to get burned. I had that happen before, and it's not fun.

    fixed the problem over the weekend. With only one sheet of newspaper, the t-stat set temp is 2 degrees different than the hot side hide temp. (95 on the stat is translating to 93 on the thermometer). I also changed the t-stat to kick back on after a 1* drop. Temps over the weekend were nice and consistent. Thanks for the help.
