well you meanies got your way--sort of. i tried to give him some water via syringe and he just drooled it back out on me. he did poop once and it was normal looking but he was doing very badly. so i prepped myself for my first ever rat whacking, since that was the only method immediately available, and decided that after i watered the geckos and whatnot i'd take care of him. when i went to get him once i was finished he was already gone. so in a way i guess i'm relieved that i didn't have to do any whacking.

Aww, poor little bugger. I'm relieved for you that you didn't need to do anything you didn't want to; I know I don't like the thought of thumping my feeder mice, which is why I feed live. Good luck with the rest, and I hope you don't have to worry about that again :(

well it was for the best--something was obviously wrong with the little guy and by the time i got him he was beyond help. the others are all fine, eating, wrestling, little balls of hyper energy so no worries there. they'll make fine main course items. :)
