Re: gertie (red eyed tree frog)
Hello that is a amazing picture i've always loved these guys but have even thought about getting one at one time but want to get all the stuff down before looking for good breeder? do you have pics of the enclosure?
Re: gertie (red eyed tree frog)
i don't have pics at present, but i can describe it. :) it's a 30 gallon tall octagon shaped aquarium with a half glass, half screen top--ventilation is important so you don't want to have an enclosed top. the substrate is bed-a-beast, i have cork bark for a backdrop, fake vines and some tropical type plants and a shallow rubbermaid dish (i think its a sandwhich container) filled with water. you want to use something that is easily cleaned for a water dish because they like to defecate in the water while they are soaking so it needs to be cleaned often.
Re: gertie (red eyed tree frog)
so they aren't hard to keep then?
Re: gertie (red eyed tree frog)
i'd say they are about a mid-level frog to keep. not as easy as something like a white's tree frog--they are a bit more delicate than those. and red eyes are really just to look at--not a frog to be handled.
