Thanks Jeanne.....yep Rauri's are that ( ) look to them. He's "just" a "common" boa but heck I think he's neat!

LoL Shelby, Becky would come get Rauri herself if I did that. We love fostering him but from day one he was Becky's boy before I even took him in I phoned her. Once Rauri is home with her in the spring though and we've moved to a bigger house we would like to get our own boa (or two).

Thanks Raj! We were lucky that when Rauri came in, even with the belly burn and his incredibly dark stressed state he wasn't underweight. Once we got his husbandry straightened out his color adjusted and his sheds got perfect. He's really incredibly easy to care for.

We lucked out on finding a meat rabbit breeder only 5 miles from our house who raises rabbits for the restaurant industry so lucky Rauri is getting his dinner from a supplier whose inspected and all, as he raises for human consumption. He only eats twice a month which seems to be just right for him and since he was at one time a pet store snake, he will eat just about anything offered to him with equal zeal.

We do try to get him out a fair bit so he can stretch out and get that big body some exercise. During good weather we have an enclosed porch that he used a lot though typical male, he likes to head for the love seat out there and laze around watching the squirrels through the window LOL.
