I wouldn't be stressing yourself out over the animal not switching.. Sounds like you have easy access to live rats and it seems to be going well. People on here will tell you that every animal can be switched to FT which I firmly disagree with but that's neither here nor there. I don't even try to switch my females to FT until they hit medium rats. Be prepared that some won't switch. Sure you can do what some suggest and starve the animal til they have no choice but that isn't my cup of tea... Point in all of this is I wouldn't stress about it. Get the husbandry on point and keep feeding the animal.

I'm one of those keepers that believe most snakes can be transitioned to take f/t and I will wait them out until they eat what's offered. It usually takes about 3-6 months before they fully get with the program but after that it's smooth sailing. My motto is the hunger always wins in the end. I have no issues with those who prefer to feed their snakes live prey. It's just more convenient and less expensive for me to feed f/t. Sometimes it just takes a little tough love to get stubborn animals on track.

I offer food every 2 weeks for a couple of feedings. If they refuse 2-3 times at biweekly intervals I offer food every 3 weeks. If they refuse twice I extend to monthly offerings. If they still refuse I offer a very small live feeder and start the process over.
