Just to add a little info,

My BCI Boa does this same thing every now and then (Glass terrarium) , don't know why, but don't believe it's stargazing. Maybe she is just looking out? She is 2+ years old as far as I know, maybe older, sheds like she's supposed to and is very gentle when she is out for handling. she also uses her hides, and is stable when she is roaming around.

I’ve just looked up the symptoms for IBD “stargazing” and he didn’t have any of the symptoms of that specific disorder. Like I said he pretty much acted like a normal snake with the occasional weird stuff he did (named in my reply above)

Sorry for your loss.its so hard loosing A scale baby, as other have said some snake are born with defect that just show up out the blue
Small pinkies for a 5 month old boa seem a bit small, they normally start off on large pinkies/small fluffs depending on your boa size.
My little baby boas are now 5months I've bred my self are now on small mice and some a medium mouse wouldn't be A problem
