    If the space is still empty I would suggest putting down some sort of cheap flooring as well, like a carpet remnant, as otherwise the concrete floor will suck the heat right out of the space since you won't be heating the whole slab.

    Simple room built in the basement. I wouldn't have built the floor up as it's overkill. Well, overkill unless it floods.

    Precisely why I did build the floor up a little. I have a sump pump in the basement and wanted to provide a little reassurance in case anything ever happens.
