Day 57, haven't shrunk

ONE PIPPED TODAY, I NEARLY DIED HAHA. Should I cut the remainder or let them pop themselves.

So, from the looks of things I got three out of the six eggs out of the clutch to hatch on there own. The other three I cut tonight and I'm pretty sure they are died. I'm less then thrilled. If I had cut them before I left for camping (when two of them had already pipped) I may not have lost any of them. They all look fully developed but I'm quite upset with the outcome. Looks like I've got two jigsaw het albinos and a champagne mix. I need to wait for her to completely come out of her egg to get a good look.

It's important not to beat your self up in these situations.

If three pipped on their own then the rest of the clutch should have been able to. Unless you examine the three that didn't and they have no egg tooth to cut the shell then the reason they didn't make it is probably a congenital defect. Some times they simply don't manage to survive the transition from living in the egg to breathing on their own. :(

I know how upsetting it is but, the sad fact is, not every baby snake makes it.

If you repeat the pairing I'd definitely cut them all once the first one pips but in nature they should pip on their own.
