ya know, my friend rescued a blood python that had five sheds still stuck on him and eye caps are permanently stuck. so the poor guy strikes at everything because he is blind... the sheds were all taken off, but the eye caps will not budge. the previous owner had him in a aquarium with no water, no heat, no hides and temps were not measured. thank god that my friend siezed him. poor snake...

A good vet can get those caps off. They will pop off, but you need the right equipment to do it.

Some of you may remember when our ball python "Eyecap" was still around. He was the ball that lived with his "friend" the gerbil, who could not drink out of a water bowl so the owner installed a water bottle instead. Now that was allot of eyecaps..Nothing a good soak didn't cure. The bite wounds on the other hand took a long, and I mean a long, rehabbing process. Anyhow off track. Just make sure the blood is able to get re~hydrated and properly vet checked.
    Good luck

Tell your friend not to give up. Really good husbandry especially during shedding will likely get the snake back in shape and get those caps off. A couple of our big females had layers of shed on them plus one with a lot of caps on one eye. We were able to remove some but left the others. She finally shed normally recently and there were two lovely dark shiney eyes under all that mess! There is hope!

I completely agree with Rusty about having the snake see a vet. Gosh knows what the poor thing has been through and it's always well worth the money to get an abused animal seen and a fecal done.

Do some of them go to new homes or do they live with you forever?

I'm willing to give snakeys a home.....*HINT, HINT!*;) They just can't be so big that they'd see my little Siamese as an entree!! :w00t: If you're ready for "Annie" to get a new home, just let me know!!! :)
