    Silicone has very little holding power for something like that, I wouldn't waste the silicone. But if you really want this to be front-opening, there are other ways to do it.

    I actually prefer top-opening myself, after having modified cabinets in the past to open in front, & successfully used them for a while. I added aluminum tracks w/ felt
    strips in the bottom (for smoother sliding) & had plate glass doors made for sliding in the tracks. Super easy to lock securely: all it took was a hole drilled in the wood
    cabinet on each side, & one sturdy peg pushed into each hole...nothing could slide the doors open but me.

    The plants aren’t too hard to disinfect if I need to do so separately, and reptibark is pretty easy to scoop out and replace. Also, the plastic is very easy to wipe down :)

    Ok, could you take some photos of it when you add the front? I'd really like to copy what you have done there. I'm going to be looking at an sd retics in the coming months , and one it out grows the ve-6 I bought I'd like to take a stab st making my own setups from tubs like you have here.

    How is this build coming? My girlfriend is interested in trying to do this with a bioactive enclosure. I am not sure if it would work though.
