That way if both parents are hets, it’s a surprise bonus, even if highly unlikely.

Or if you are really intent on testing there genes, you have to breed a possible het to a visual recessive to see what happens, but I personally would not waste the energy when I can just get a 100% het or visual to start with.

I agree with you, all my breeding plans are visual x 100% het or in the near future visual x visual. I also only purchase visual or 100%. This breeding was just because I had the super cinny with no plans other than to possibly sell but she was ready and I love ghi cinny so I figured why not put my ghi het DG boy to her. I won't mind having a ghi cinny extra female to put one of my visual DG boys to in the future, I didn't purchase these snakes with plans of breeding this pairing, just so happens I had the super cinny from previous plans. Now that I've changed plans to really only focus on DG, I don't mind getting a combo I love from animals I already had even if it is only 50% DG. I have plenty of visuals and 100% hets to work with, so I won't mind if the hold back from this clutch doesn't prove out because I certainly didn't put all my eggs in this basket lol. This will pretty much be just a fun little side project, you can never have too many of those right haha.

I just wanted to give an update.

I'm only a couple weeks in but I'm pretty happy because so far all 8 eggs still look good so I'm guessing if the 2 I was worried about were actually bad, there would be some signs by now. But nope, they look just as bright and plump as the rest so fingers crossed, all should hopefully hatch for me in another 40 days or so, man it's hard to be patient! :D

So the first one is out and he's looking awesome! Different than any ghi cinny I've seen, the light pattern is usually an orange/brown color, mine is faded to almost a grey color. I'm hoping this is a way to tell the hets but I won't know until more are out to compare. Looks like the two roll outs and all but one that molded half way through are good and should be healthy hatchlings. I did peak at the rest and I believe I did well on odds with 5 ghi cinnys and 2 cinnys.
Anyway, here's boy #1, I love him even though I wish he was a girl. I'll probably keep him as a holdback anyway because at least with a male I won't have to wait so long to prove him out.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fca5132ddc.jpg

So out of the 5 ghi cinnys only one girl errrrrrr! But at least I got what I hoped for before I knew how many ghi cinnys I would even get, I wanted to hold back 1.1 and that's exactly what I can do now so I'm pretty pleased.

I'm leaning towards this Male ghi cinny as my other holdback, he has a slight purple tint and is a touch lighter than the others. Hopefully that's an indication of him being hethttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4937926f0d.jpg
