Anyone see the redeux of Exorcist?

When we saw it the theatre was chock full of high school kids heckling the movie, making fun of the choice scenes etc. Then when the girl came crawling down the stairs backwards and upside down - screams ensued. Half the theatre emptied out right there - honestly. No more heckles the rest of the film. I didn't think it was THAT scary - no more than the head that sprouted legs and crawled away in Carpenter's The Thing. I've never seen a reaction like that to a film.

My dad went to see Jaws when it came out in theatres - dragged me along and I was MAYBE in kindergarten at best. That did a number on me and the ocean for a few years hehe. He apparently STILL gets chewed out for that anytime I mention it.

No WAY movies can compete with books though as far as freaking/frightening you - you bring all your own baggage into those and can't hude behind someone else's interpretation.
