Just because you don't see her burrowing by the heat mat doesn't mean she won't. Please unplug the heat mat ASAP. Your snake won't miss it for a few days.
Honestly, Google search snake burns if you have any doubts.

Also, NO NO NO on tape inside an enclosure. The tape can get stuck on the scales of the snake and cause SERIOUS damage. I also read of one fatal story where the snake got stuck to tape and ended up breaking it's neck and dying.

No tape EVER inside a snake enclosure or anywhere they can possible get to it. They will stick and it can do severe damage.

Sooo helpful!! Larger water dish, thermosat, I have loose coconut substrate from zoo med. will change it out. I put some aluminum foil over most of her lid for now. She seems so sweet. I just hope she's a she haha.. I will have to see a vet to confirm and see if they can gauge her age. What size should I feed her?

Yes, I didn't think tape would be a good idea.. just wanted confirmation. Someone told me tape. I said, how is that even remotely safe?? I'm just not sure how to stick the probes down near the bottom where she won't be able to get in behind them. I've got them pulled up near the top and that's not a good reading.

I bought my thermostat after I had already stuck my UTH to the bottom of my tank so someone here gave me a cool workaround. Take a small piece of insulation foam, 3x3" should work and sandwich the probe in between the UTH and the foam and duct tape it in place. This also keeps you from using tape inside the tank [emoji6]

For thermometer probes, they don't have to be stuck down at all. I just dangle mine close to the substrate when I use the probe ones. I have recently switched to these however, and it solves that problem.

you just put the whole unit in the tank, one on the hot side and one on the cold. I have them sitting on top of the substrate Astrid doesn't bother them. Some people attach them to the sides of the tank.

When you get your themostat, that probe will need to go between the heat mat and the bottom of the tank. If you have the stick on type heat mat, they are not designed to be peeled off, so you may have an issue. I don't use that kind so I don't have a lot of advice there.
