Me too. I have bumped up temps, raised humidity, and put some of my male bps sheds in with her....maybe those tricks will work to get her out of fasting. For some reason, she has also been really jumpy lately too....anytime she is out of her hide and I check in....she immediately jumps back then goes for the hide...

One of my former rescues was like that too. Fortunately she calmed down after a couple of months of TLC. Some of them just have quirky personalities imho. Have you tried Adams crumpled up news paper technique with her? Might help her feel more secure.

yep....got the crumpled newspaper too :) ....but when she sees me she is gone. She has alway been a pleasure to handle though, and has only stuck at me during feeding times. I guess ladies become moody every now and then :D

is placing a shed of a male in the tank of a female supposed to break a fast by a female? My female is about a year old now and is going on 3 weeks without a meal so i'm looking for anything that could help.

Adam suggested that I put a male shed, up the humidity, and make sure the temps are good to get her feeding again. Thanks Adam!

Sif ate today w/ no problem.....took a gigantic breeder mouse and I have another sitting in there right now...so hopefully she will take that one too and start to put on some more weight :)

All the others were great feeders today too! I still can not get over the little het hypo female's aggressiveness towards food......Adam sure does produce some good eaters ;)....It seems like I could just keep dropping in mice and she would eat every single one....no retreating to a hide after a meal for her, she just sits in ambush ready to take down another....When I set in the adult mouse today, she launched out of the enclosure at my hand....I guess she does not think adult mice are big enough for her...and if she keeps eating like this they won't be

Oh Daniel they are such pretty females! Glad to hear they are both eating so well for you now. Isn't it great when they launch at their prey like that LOL. Scared the beejesus outta me the first time Kyna did it and even more so when the big girl, Brannagh does it (which is pretty much a weekly event so we are braced for the "charge!!!!" now).

I'll have to remember that lil trick with the male shed thingy to get females eating again. Our two stubborn ladies are getting live later tonight since they have turned their noses up at the nice f/t rats for the past 3 weeks (picky brats!)
