Happy National Velociraptor Awareness Day!
Or is it Merry National Velociraptor Awareness Day? Who knows!
On Friday, I stopped in at the local big box grocery store to pick up a package of National Velociraptor Awareness Day Greeting Cards to send out with pictures of me and my chihuahua, Sigmund Freud Justice, in ugly National Velociraptor Awareness Day Sweaters. You know, like people usually do for this holiday.
Shockingly, it was brought to my attention by an employee named "Teresa" that no such holiday exists. Whoa, Teresa! Hold your horses! Facebook, HowStuffWorks.com, and I beg to differ! It's on April 18th!
National Velociraptor Awareness Day may not be a federal or religious holiday, and Hallmark refuses to give it "Hallmark Holiday" status. But one thing is sure. Velociraptors are awesome, and we should be aware of them. What other dinosaur has a roller-coaster pseudo-named after it? Magical Liopleurodon, eat your heart out!
