    Do you have side vents?

The Pro-Line cage vents are in the upper corners of the cage (right and left) so I just trim a bit of the background to be lower than the vents.

It isn't particularly easy because the rubber for these bag rounds is almost like a tire.

I thought AP had side and rear vents but I could be wrong. If I'm not just cover the rear vents and let the sides do the work.

I do have side vents. I just like having more circulation than the side vents alone.
Cutting them wouldn’t be an issue here. I could use the band saw in the sculpture studio on campus and be done in two seconds lol!
If I do seriously look into doing backgrounds it will probably be for the 4’ cages only just because they’re smaller and don’t have shelves to work around. Not to mention the price for a background in the 8’ cage. That Argentine is going to look astounding in there some day when she’s grown up though

Question on those backgrounds. Think they are durable enough for large digging claws of gilas and beaded? Want to get ledge backgrounds for Dozer and Tank and i dont want them shredding them while climbing all over them. Going to ask the company but figured id pick your brain about them too Gio.

I dont want to get off topic but whats your reasoning for wanting as much circulation as possible? I mean I understand the obvious... but during the winter I actually cover 90% of the vents on my AP enclosures to keep Humidity because my homes dry and I figure the glass sliders have enough space between them to pull enough air in... do you think I could have a problem down the road? So far everyones been ok (Knock on Wood). Im also a Cleaning fanatic.. crap and piss is cleaned the day it occurs.

Too stagnant of air combined with high humidity is a breeding ground for molds, fungi and bacteria. I doubt you will problems down the road. Just stick your head in the cage and see if it smells musty and mildewy.

Well my Humidity is 56-58% normally and 65% the weeks of shedding. My enclosures are cleaned once a week with F10, walls included... so hopefully im all good. Of course I’m a nut and question myself about these things even after 30 years hahahah

You should be fine. I keep around 70% humidity and do full cage cleanings every month to 1.5 months. The only one that gets kind of funky is Caesar's cage but i swear retics just have a swampy smell to them period lol.

Yup they do... Burms stink terrible too but they don’t go to the bathroom 1/2 as much as Retics.. i just couldnt deal with that.. my BEL piss’s 2-3 times a week and it drives me Nuts.. the Albino once/Twice a month and Burm once a week but 90% of the time he uses the Bathtub so I clean his cage just to disinfect most of the time. I got it pretty easy hahaha

    Yeah,

They are really tough. Cutting them is not easy depending on which type you chose.

I JM won't have a problem cutting them in the studio at all. It took me a while and anybody with a Pro-Line cage will know the vents are pretty small up in the corners. I didn't need to cut much.

Back to your question, I think you would be fine if you wanted to use one of these.

Are yours fastened to the back of the cage or just free standing?
