How BIG is your TV?

Am I alone in hating most of these modern TV screens?

I bought one of the last plasma screens available a few years ago because I didn't want to be cornered buying one of these LED/LCD monstrosities. In my opinion, plasma was the last format to deliver a high quality picture.

I just find that, even on the high end screens, most of the currently available ones are WAY too bright, and have that unrealistic super sharp image that looks, well, just so fake. I think they call it the soap opera effect. It gives me a headache if I watch them too long.

My next screen will definitely be a projector. If anyone has one and wants to chime in on their opinion, I'd love to hear it.

    You are absolutely correct.

Buying a television that is too big for your room is like going to the movie theater and sitting in the front row. There are many calculators online that can help you find the proper size television for your room, here's one: https://www.inchcalculator.com/tv-si...ce-calculator/

As with all things, including sneks, bigger is not always better. Sometimes it's just bigger.

Thats why I sold my 85” and got at 65. I went from a huge living room to a smaller one in the new house I built. It was to big to sit anywhere closer than 15-20 feet

Nope the new led crap sucks. That’s why I’m really leaning towards a projector too

65 inch LG OLED. WOW, just wow!

Looks like a plasma, but much lighter. True blacks, no motion blur, etc. It's a modern plasma.

I went Plasma - LCD (hated it) - OLED and love it.

Good to hear, as projectors only work well in a dark room.

As I understand it, what are being sold today as LEDs are actually just higher end LCDs, the drawbacks of which just cannot be overcome. But the OLEDs are true LED, with a price tag to match! Maybe I'm wrong though.

I picked up a 50" Vizio 4K-HD a year and change ago. The picture is fantastic, the customer service is deplorable.

    Hahahaha....

I'm still using an off brand 32" 720p from Radio Shack that I bought in 2007 for a whopping $400 (which was a STEAL back then)....won't upgrade until the Packers make the Super Bowl (could be 20 years at this rate) or the Brewers make the World Series (good probability actually)

The Brew Crew should be a legit NL contender this year. Crazy to think pitchers and catchers report to camp kinda soon.
