Any animal that comes into my house that I care for I become attached to therefore,
I could never feed anything live to anything

Bahaha rats and banjos and spitting dip. This thread made my horrendous day at work worth it.

I get where you're coming from, JellyBean. I love rats. I'm actually a vegetarian as well. Thankfully I've never had to feed live rodents, but I would if I had to.

I'm curious, what would you do if your BP suddenly went on a fast that would only be broken by feeding live? I've heard that happen a lot of times.

The fact is that snakes eat rats, often live. Our "pet" snakes have only been trained to accept them dead. In the end it's whatever's best for our snakes, and preferably what's easiest for the keeper to sustain their snakes with.

He wouldn't do that to me because I've already talked to him about it

It's hard to tell if you are joking or not but in case you aren't- you do realize that your snake can't understand you right?

I admit I'm having a bit of a hard time telling too, considering there has been members in the past who have anthropomorphized their snakes pretty badly.
