    It sounds like your dad has a chance OP!

    Let him come to you though. With his acceptance of the animal and not just outright screaming about means he will possibly get interested. I have an aunt who comes over weekly and is straight so afraid of snakes I honestly think she fakes it but then again phobia's are weird like that.

    So my huband, when I got my snake admitted he was afraid of him. He held no interest in him at all. After time went by, he got curious. To the point of poking him just to see what he felt like. Luckily I got blessed with a docile boy. He may not still be comfortable with him, but time has allowed him to grow curious.

    From the time I got him, to the time he poked him. I handled my snake only when he was not in the same room, or when he was not home. So I agree with everyone else, just based on personal experience. Let your dad come to you. Do things with your new companion by yourself. Just give pops time. :D
