I think that thermostat is relatively new to the market. I saw the guy who hosts the page GoHerping using it on YouTube and it looks like a fine unit. Great choice on the substrate as well.

Post some pics of your snake when you get time.

So far I'm liking it- I like the alarm feature. If anything goes off 3 degrees from where I set it (and it never has since initial setup), I'll know. Will probably get another one for the CHE as well, until I can get a Herpstat.

And I certainly will! She roams for a short while at night so hopefully, I'll be able to grab some pics then. =)

Re: Best Options for Heating and Insulating a Tank?
Hey there, just wanted to "wave"....I'm in Spring Hill, I drive past Zephyrhills every day on my way to work in Tampa. We're new python owners as well. [emoji4]

Somehow here in FL I'm having an AWFUL time maintaining the humidity. Go figure.

Ah, hello! And sorry to hear that. Even adding the CHE I've kept my girl's humidity up with a damp hand towel laid over her screen top. Thankfully she's been easy to deal with in that regard. I hope you figure out something that works for your BP!

And update- despite being fed live before I owned her, I tried a F/T today for feeding and she took it. Her temps are staying right to, so I'm glad. So based on that all is going well I believe. Thanks again to all who offered help!
