Also, when do you put it in the hides? As I said this is our first shed together and I'm totally new to it. Monday my daughter took her out and came to me to look at her eyes. They were awesome looking. Like a piercing light blue. But I knew why and explained it to her so we put her back. Is that when you put it in or do you wait until her eyes change back and she actually starts to shed. From everything I read that's when they actually go into their shed right? When their eyes go back to normal?

Take a deep breath, you're doing just fine!

You can keep the moss in there the whole time. The only reason I used to take it out is so it doesn't get soiled.

I used to keep the moss damp once I saw that my BP is going into shed.

And you can tell when they are going into shed. Their bellies turn a pink or salmon color first, their skin looks ashy, then the eyes go blue. Then the eyes clear and a shed will follow soon after.

Haha! Not at all! I was like at first as well until I realized that they're like kids, pretty bomb proof.

As long as you provide stable temps and your humidity is decent, your BP with do great.

I wish I would have known to do plastic and not a tank. Until I joined here and a forum on FB I had no idea a glass tank wasn't the greatest. Nothing I researched said that. She's in great hands though. Way better off than the store I got her from. I went back for a mouse because the ones I got from the reptile store were too big just yet and they had new ones. They were all stressed and sad looking. I felt so bad for them. Really heartbreaking. :/

I'm sorry. I'm new at this and don't know what that means.
