I checked him this morning and he seems back to normal curled up in his hide.
Hopefully this was just an isolated incident. I will keep an eye on him.
Was he musking me or do you think it was just bad timing and he had to go the bathroom right st that moment. Omg what a mess that was lol
Cats & snakes aren't a great mix, just saying... but as far as the "shower", your nose should tell you if it was musk or not. I think he was just scared itless...

Yeah, my cat isn't allowed in my snake room. Just not worth it. She has the whole house, she doesn't need to be in the snake room

It's just possible that when your cat snooped around on previous occasions your snake was in his hide or otherwise occupied & didn't notice, but THIS time he did!?
I think that THIS time he fully picked up on her scent & it spelled "predator" to him.
Re: Strange behavior from my year old hondo
I dont have a designated snake room so its impossible to keep the can contained. She really doesn't pay much attention to the snakes.

That's not the point...your snake was perhaps terrorized, from your description...and that's NOT good (nor fair) for the snake, is it?
Re: Strange behavior from my year old hondo
I just had him out tonight. He was back to himself.
I find it amazing some of these comments. Like everyone doesn't have other animals or toddlers for that matter. Little common sense goes a long way. I successfully manage two dogs, two cats and six snakes without incident.
The one time my snake and a Honduran at that acts out everyone jumps on this bandwagon insinuating that my snakes are not happy or properly taken care.
I can assure you all my snakes are cared for better than most if not all on this site. I resent the negative feedback. Totally rediculous.
My cats stay. Lol
Have a wonderful evening.
Re: Strange behavior from my year old hondo
Once again another example of taking things so eccentrically serious. I was obviously joking about the comment "spawn of satan"
All I was looking for was verification that what I was describing was not unusual behavior for a Honduran. They tend to be wilder than a ball python .
I have since verified from a different source that what i described is pretty typical for a Honduran.

I just re-read this whole thread, and found no bandwagon, no mention of your snakes not being properly cared for and no negative feedback.
I'm not quite sure what you're resenting, your above comment was the first negativity I see in this thread....
