Wow shelby ! thats so great ! You have some beautiful snakes.

Man, i feel like im so behind in my herping. You guys would always talk about the snakes you someday dreamed of owning like your anaconda and your burmese python and now youve finally got them !! Unlike me.....i havent gotten any new snakes exept for my little sonoran gopher snake. im still with the same 4 snakes ......its great but everybody knows that snakes are very addicting and you just want more !

Have fun with your new additions shelby im happy for you !

Oh that albino Nelson's is so darling! Looking right at the camera too! My daughter is just waiting for the breeder to tell us which of his new 8 baby albino Nelson's is a female so she can pick which one will be hers (she's saving madly for it as we speak lol).

Congrats on all the new additions. That Suri is stunning!

Thanks everyone. I opened cages to check temps today, and everyone seems fine.

Except for one. My big dumerils seems to have a respiratory infection. I know at the show she was cold. Maybe I was stupid to buy her, but I really adore her. Seems a vet trip is in order though. *sigh*

She's in shed, but that wouldn't make her gurgly and a bit profuse in saliva would it? She isn't drooling out her mouth or anything. I think I'll wait until she sheds then take her to the vet.

I have no idea how long she has been gravid for.

My money spent is my business (no offense) but I saved for about two months to go there.

URI's that show themselves as "gurgly" don't happen in less than 36 hours. If she is gurgling now, the vendor most likely knew she was sick. Unfortunately, URI is often a common side effect of breedeing for many species of boids in the hands of breeders that don't know any better. I would definitely contact the seller and at least b!tch a little bit, even if they don't do anything about it, they should at least be reminded that selling sick animals just isn't right.

Have your vet do a culture ... since she's an adult she may have been treated at some point in the past and have a resistance built up to certain anti-biotics ... a culture will potentially save you a lot of trial and error.

Congrats on your new snakes. :) They are amazing. When I showed my daughter the pic of the Anaconda she flipped out. Anacondas are her favorite snake. Sorry to hear about the URI. I hope everything is ok.

Ok.. actually I did call him. He said that because she was cold and that she was shedding that's why she's gurgly. He said warm her up and in a few days when she sheds she should be better.

I'll wait for the shed, then take her to the vet if she's still bad.

You're going to need anti-biotics for this one ... I should have bet money on the seller saying that ... LOL.
