    I always live by this say, "You get what you pay for"... The truth of the matter is that you need to have a good t-stat in order to regulate the heat source properly. Either Herpstat or Vivarium Electronics t-stats are worth every penny in the long run. If you try to cut corners because you do not have the funds for a better t-stat then you will only end up with troubles in the end. Even if you start off with buying a cheaper t-stat like the Jump-Start thermostat off Amazon is a start until you have enough $$ to buy a better t-stat. You asked for other peoples advice and they committed. Hopefully you do what is best and safe for your reptiles.

    Well, just ordered two of Herpstat ez2. They have two separate thermostat controls on them, so each snake will have its own thermostat sometime in the next two weeks. Sticking with bulbs for now, maybe that'll be the next upgrade but this seemed more important. Thanks for advise. Now this is the stupid question thread. So how to you get the probe to stay where you put it?
