Pastel or normal? Looking to start breeding when appropriate size.

Thank you very much for your help. That's why I was asking. We have researched both pastel and Yellow belly's and really couldn't decide on our own, and usually she is much lighter but darker right now due to her beginning shed. also we have been looking at other morphs to purchase and we figured we be sure what she is before we buy something in case we ever want to give breeding a try. And we seen that Pastel's and Banana's can give beautiful offspring.

It is a Pastel but not seeing genetics worth the time of breeding in that one. Honestly not an interesting pattern or great color.
If you are wanting to breed, you want to use great looking animals. Quality only comes with what you put into the mix.

Yes her color is dark at the moment but she is going into shed and usually much brighter.

I read/hear that all the time, so basically you want to breed and stay stuck with a bunch of babies that will cost you money and put you in the red in an over saturated market?

Don’t take that as sarcasm it’s not it’s to make you think, you have an animal, you have limited knowledge mutations, you do not have a plan or a vision since you ask others what you should breed to your pastel and therefore I will assume you have limited knowledge of the market itself.

Not everyone want to breed to make money but the reality is also no one wants to breed to lose money either , with a pastel unless you invest in a powerful male you will lose money and be stuck with undesirable animals because they are everywhere.
That’s something to seriously consider because putting a male and a female together is easy, the rest not so much even though some people try to make it sound like it is and this is why after 3 years the people that say I don’t want to breed for money tend to sell everything because it actually has become a financial burden.

Because you have a snake does not mean you have to breed it, and if you want to breed it you need to give it serious consideration and do some SERIOUS research, mutations, genetics, market, goals, feeders, housing, etc......ALWAYS see the big picture.

Put me in the red? Sorry but breeding a a BP will far from put me in the red. And yes i have no interest in selling and trying to make money off breeding. Also i have some knowledge mutation and genes as i have breed Leos for years. BP is just another hobby that i would enjoy trying. I am not here to discover a new morph and try and get rich, but yes i would like to buy a male and maybe get a clutch of my own instead of buying BPs from breeders who all they care about is $$. So if i offended anyone woth my questions sorry but i see nothing wrong with wanting to breed for my own.

In no way an expert but my vote is a pastel.
