I had a pair of house snakes many years ago. The adults had a very nice iridescent shine to them. Neither ever offered to bite but were flighty (as expected from smaller species). Once calm they were easy to work with.
Fun fact, they are one of the most prolific snake species in the world. They readily breed any time of year and will drop multiple clutches. They are not picky eaters as adults however the hatchlings can be tricky to get eating because of their small size.
    Good luck!
