The normal is outstanding. I wish I could get that coloration in a ball. Especially the eyes.

Really gorgeous, the black/red reminds me of an indigo

Congratulations John, you just made many many "wish-lists" a bit longer! :D

These kind of fell in my lap. A fellow bought a couple garter snakes from me and asked what else I kept. When I got to the female maculata he offered me these in exchange for some more garters. I had to dip into my holdback reserves but it was worth it!

Very pretty snakes! You know you have a cool species when even the normals look absolutely stunning! Its always nice to see a few more species that I can spend time at work researching...:D:snake:

BTW, while I'm not generally a big fan of pied (with a lot of white) or albino snakes, I really love the face coloration (silver-gray) on your super.
Can you "make" me one that's all that color... :wuv: purdy-pleeze?

Re: Salt and Pepper
I will have to agree John very nice! And I haven't heard of this species either, but you have me wanting to research them now! Thank you so much for sharing :)

I wish, but you do get that color for a few days every shed cycle, haha. A neat tidbit about pied maculata, it's a naturally occurring trait. A WC super male is the founding parent for a lot, if not all, of the captive lines. I've also found a picture of a roadkill pied that someone took in San Javier, Santa Fe.
