Is it any sort of clue, that when I found her dead, she was pretty much sprawled lying on her back with the only twist in body being in the upper 1/4... I hate to even imagine that she struggled.

Means nothing ... get a necropsy! You could have a very serious contagion in your collection that could do the same thing to the rest of your animals.
