Without knowing the OPs specific species of snake the question applies to, it's a waste of time to type.

Look up, above this & your post (above thread title)...it says Forum...Ball pythons...General BP's...etc. O.K.?
On the "Home" page, it shows the "forum" at the far right...ie. Ball pythons.

I'm well aware of that hahahahhah However, I don't assume things, plus the OP has 2 species of snakes in his sig. As much as I'd like to have faith in people to ask the right question in the right forum, I've used forums enough to know that people don't.

My bp was super head shy at first, but after lots of gentle touching over the last year, he's totally used to it at this point. I gently touch the top of his head and lift his head with my finger when handling. I figured it would be good to get him used to it in case I ever need to examine him for infections or give him any kind of medication. If he's used to the head touching, the whole process becomes less stressful and foreign.

Also, ball python 'headboobs' are squishy and adorable to poke.

 And I totally agree with how you're getting him used to being touched. All snakes instinctively dislike their heads being touched, but they do learn it's harmless.
