What is your dream snake and why?

Like most people here.... I love all my animals. A there are a few that are more dangerous that some would have as mentioned about the king cobra that would not make great pets but are loved from a distance because of the dangers. Some can not afford their "dream snake" because a rare morph is rather pricy sometimes. Was to be a good place to express it but not a way of showing lack of love for the ones we have already.

Some people live in dark places, we simply feed them to the king cobra and move on.

I'll answer this by going with two snakes I am confident I will never own, which is my personal interpretation of "dream snake". I also don't see this in any way as disrespect to our current snakes. I will honestly say that if money was not an option, I'd have opted for different morphs with my BP and Borneo STP, but regardless, I love them the same regardless of paint job.

1) Yellow Anaconda.
- First I LOVE the way they look. Second, 12 feet is a much more manageable size than their green cousins. I've read a bit and seen some videos and they seem to be easy handling, well tempered snakes, although my under standing is that takes time and patience as they are not generally docile by nature. They seem like a challenge that I would love to take on and could be quite rewarding.
- But, realistically, it'll never happen. I live in MA where they are not legal. The snakes themselves are in my price range, but a proper enclosure along with their feeding and upkeep put them above my pay grade. Not to mention, my girl would definitely not be cool with an Anaconda considering many boa and pythons aren't an option.

2) Beolens Python.
- Again, looks are my first draw to these animals, they're just gorgeous. The snake applies here as with the anaconda regarding size, temperament and challenge/reward.
- Obviously, the size is something that will limit me based on my girls comfort level. But they're also way out of my meager price range.

Without getting into definitions, a couple snakes I'm interested in for "someday":

White-lipped Python - A less common and really beautiful iridescent snake
Dwarf Burmese - Like a Burmese, but without being inconveniently too big

Reticulated python no question would be my dream snake, I love everything about them:love::love::love:

I love the king cobra but I would never be able to feed it a normal diet as they are snake eaters and I could never feed a snake to anything.

Since I was a little kid I always wanted an Eastern Indigo. I know it's not as exotic as other possibilities, but for me it was the the biggest and one of the most beautiful snakes that the U.S. had to offer.

Easy!! Sigh...it’s the Boelens Python.

I really feel like I could make it happen, even the exorbitant price tag doesn’t scare me off. But breeders just aren’t breeding them in captivity yet, at least not in the US. With the always-looming threat of closed importation, we may only have a finite # of them to work with here. If I took one of those imports as just a pet, I’m lessening the pool. I just don’t know if it’s wise for the big picture.

So I have ethics questions I battle with. Plus being new to snake keeping, I’m not sure if they’re just too much snake for me.

But good grief - they may be the most perfect looking snake I’ve ever laid eyes on.

A Madagascar ground Boa, or a Angolan Python or a granite Burm. But to be honest, and I think a lot of long time snake owners would understand it was pretty cool to get a Pied. Which I did so I kinda got my dream snake. I wouldn’t mind a pinstripe clown either. Or an Eastern Indingo ;)
