Should his housing change? Besides a full on clean after he is settled. I will get his uth and jumpstart asap.
These snakes like to burrow...they also enjoy cardboard tubes & such to hide in. Since his cage has changed location, he might feel better with more privacy.

On malnourished rescues, while it is overwhelmingly tempting to want to feed them a lot, you should actually go slow in bumping up the size or frequency of feeding. Their systems have gotten used to subsisting on less food than needed, being hit with way more food than they are used to processing all at once can overwhelm their systems and can cause regurges or other issues.
And IF they should happen to have internal parasites (as the reason for being underweight), when you bump up the food all at once it can kill the snake because
the parasites are suddenly having a banquet, & they can plug up vital organs. Sadly, I've seen this happen, though I didn't understand until later what happened.

I didn't post a weight for MY snake, it's MY snake (a similar type, Texas longnose) that is sweet 16+ years old. You're mixing up our posts, lol...

Wow, I'm glad he found his way to you. He should fill out well, just don't rush it. Good luck and keep us posted on that little guy!
