Oh, believe me, so am I! It's just horrible how some people [don't!] care for their animals.

You never know, not all have equally-good immune systems functioning- snakes survive all sorts of adversity in the wild, but as pets, they shouldn't have to.
At least now with you they've got a fighting chance.

The ones that died were under 400 grams, except the Pied, he was 576, all the big ones I got from them are still alive.

Condolences for losing your snakes. I have been through several episodes with ill BPs and have lost two to RIs myself.

I'm curious if your vet was able to give you an actual cause of death aside from the bacteria found. Typically what causes death is a respiratory infection or some concentration of said bacteria infecting tissue (or the blood). I'm not sure about E. Coli, but I know many snakes carry Salmonella without suffering any symptoms or harm. Did they tell you where they collected the sample from? Did your snakes ever exhibit any wheezing, drooling, etc?

Strangely enough, when snakes do get infections, it's often from natural bacteria that they carry. The infection comes from them getting run down by bad husbandry and conditions allowing those natural bacteria to infect. It's odd that several snakes would die at the same time in those instances as these infections develop at different paces and don't necessarily transmit easily from one snake to another.

Your case still sounds more like it was a virus. Did they check for IBD? Did you see any evidence of mites on any of them? Mites are a common vector that could have carried a virus to multiple snakes.

No mites at all, and it definitely was IBD, they found out the cause of death from the necrops, it was Ecoli, they had it and salmonella that started acting up and the stress from the change of home is likely what caused them to die. Their immune system couldnt handle the Ecoli and salmonella acting up and they died from it combined with stress.
