first, everyone come in for a group hug.

    :grouphug:

secondly, sometimes u just can't appease some people. once u put them all in a 40g breeder, they will complain about something else like why keep a predatory animal at all? as long as u are responsible, knowledgeable and take good care of your animals, do u boo!

u should post and share cool/interesting articles like that.

People like that are not receptive to anything but their way.

is anyone else picturing someone coming at Deborah IRL? i'd pay good money to see her reaction to anyone questioning her care. 🤣🤣🤣

It's true that there is not point on arguing with your friend any further...there are so many points you could make and essentially it is both your rights to have free thoughts and your own opinions. You've got to do what feels right and if you get great enjoyment and pleasure in keeping snakes then it's no ones business but your own on how they are being kept. I have an indoor cat - someone could argue that's it's wrong to keep them indoors (foolishly since there are so many dangers encountered outside) it comes down to difference in preference which people mistake as right or wrong, it's up to the individual. Pet keeping in general is a choice and if your animals are healthy and cared for then don't let someone else's opinion change your own :) keep living your dream <3

i have all my kids on my wall at work, so i accept any questions i get about them. i get questions like: they don't all live together, right? how do you keep them? and here's my favorite: you know there's laws about owning multiple animals in one home, right? i give a simple explanation of my rack system, and most don't ask more than that, but some of them continue with: well are they happy in that?

like...please, go ahead and show me what a happy snake looks like. you've probably never even seen a snake up close, and you're going to explain a happy snake to me. O~K~.

but instead, i just state that they are eating, pooping, growing and docile snakes. and i love them very much. :)

I like that you keep pics of them on your wall at work. I have mine as backgrounds on my phone, etc. I also teach and get a lot of questions from kids when they find out I own reptiles. Some of the "eewwwe snakes" kids end up asking me questions and seeming more open-minded when I talk about how docile, beautiful, and interesting they are. I keep a class pet gecko, which helps expose them to reptiles, so I think that helps them be more open to the idea of owning snakes also.

i always imagined Deborah as Paula Deen w/ a lil less Butter (b/c she works w/ Lesser ;) ) and a banhammer instead of a frying pan.
