I used to use notebook lol. I recently started using Reptile Scan software. Purchased it awhile back just never got around to using it until now. So far so good. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2ecbfdcbbf.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b1cfd4918b.jpg

Apps? Spreadsheets? iHerp? That's all pretty slick, but sounds like a lot of trouble to me.

Anyone with more than one reptile needs to do some kind of record keeping.

I'm old school. I made a table on Word with four columns: Feed; Water; Handle; Weight. I printed a bunch out at work and taped them to the sides of the enclosures.

Whenever I feed, change water, handle, or weigh, I record it on the table. That way I can see what I've done and what needs to be done at a glance.

    But whatever works for ya!

Been meaning to try and start recording some of these things, though with just the one snake, I don't think ill be as detailed as everyone else. For now, I think i'll just stick to my notebook and date each event, though once I get more I plan on probably using iHerp.

Used notebooks in the 90s, still have them somewhere I think!

Started using iherp in 2009 and really like it. I mostly use it for tracking feeding but will sometimes note a shed or weight.
I find it very easy to use and don't do internet stuff on my phone so I don't care about apps.

Quick click on the 'dashboard' and I can see who is hungry and how long it's been:

Thanks everyone! There are so many possibilities I hadn't ever heard of! I'm going to have some fun seeing what I like best. :)

I use the app ReptileScan and love it. I have 17 snakes and this app absolutely helps me keep track of what I need.

I used to keep track of all of that, sheds, feeding, cleanings, etc. But I found that I had a whole pile of data that I never looked back and never used. If a snake goes off of feed for five or six months sure you can go back and look at the data, but what can you do about it? Nothing really. I'm currently using a paper based substrate and check every snake every day, I clean tubs that need it on a daily basis, really no need to track that.

The only thing I'm tracking now is my breeding schedule and rotation of males. I give them five days with the females and 3-4 days off for feeding and recovery. Once the pairing season is over I don't track anything. I know my picky eaters, which ones are mousers, and I don't really care who shed or went to the bathroom LOL. I also make a note of my ovulations on the outside of the tub but I really don't track it too much, I find that they lay about 60 days after an ovulation. I check on my females twice a day to look for eggs but don't really track it, I let them surprise me. I do keep track of how many eggs they lay, how many are slugs, how many go bad during incubation and how many hatch and what the offspring are just out of curiosity.

I also plan on tracking the first three meals for hatchlings, after that it doesn't really matter. Once they get three meals they are ready to sell or move over to my hold back rack. I offer food weekly for every snake unless she is full of eggs, then I don't even bother. But I don't track it. Now that I'm not pairing up my males and females and don't have any new hatchlings big enough to eat I don't track anything LOL. If I can't go back and use the data in some constructive way I figure it's really just a waste of time.

    I bought a journal!

It's pretty OCD but I'm tracking everything and all purchases, references, breeder info, local vet info, etc goes in here. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7cc1fefeb7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e60915222e.jpg
