Less than 24 hour here and she took her first meal from me. I understand that Boa's arent like Balls and feed most of the time. Just had to do a video to my youtube of her.

Well, after the end of feeding day, one of the Balls refused (big shock I know ). I had a left over FT weaned rat. The one she took in the video was a pup. Re-warmed the head of the weaned with hair dryer and this one happily took it too. She is very content and plump as of this morning. Just hanging out on the warm end of the tub. The rat pup in the video, she just pulled out of the hemostats without coiling around it but the weaned one, she went after full bore and coiled it before starting to eat.

Beautiful pickup! I'm getting the BOA itch as well after owning my 1st BP. I'm craving a little more personality and size which leads me to a very beginner question. I'm not interested in a large BOA (>6 feet) so how do you know which BOAs to focus on? I've read where you should inquire about the parents but if I'm just window shopping that doesn't seem reasonable. Are there any descriptors I should keep an eye open for?

That’s BEAUTIFUL!! I REALLY want a Sunglow so bad, their colors are so bright. Anubis is like any other Boa a garbage disposal lol. But I feed her on the very small side, she’s at 440g I think last I weighed her and got a weaned rat because of a refusal. So come July I’ll be torn between a GTP and Boa lol

There's some nice dwarf locality Boas, that won't reach 5ft if you get them from a reputable breeder so you know there pure
Put dwarf Boas into Google and
should give you a good list
El Salvador,cay caulker,hog island, Nicaraguan,corn island Nicaragua. Tarahumara, leopard Boas Sonoran boa

Thanks for the response. I've been looking at Hog Islands but was trying to expand my search. So if I stick to a male, I assume a dwarf boa will reach around 5ft and a non dwarf would be how long ??? And is this difference in size a game changer in terms of enclosure size, food and handling?? I'd like to use an enclosure around the size of an AP10, stay on rats and only need one person to handle.

Thats OK,the male's are generally smaller,ive got a 7ft male albino jungle bci who is 7, but generally an exception my other albino is 6ft and nearly 10, but my male motley is not 5ft and 4, so depends but the male Hoggs shouldn't be over 6ft, both my female Nicaraguan amd corn island nice are nearly 3 and only just over 4ft
I'm not sure about the viv you was on about as we don't use them in the UK, we normally use wooden vivs and my adults are in 6x2 x2
The tarahumara don't really get over 4ft and nor do the cay caulker most leopard s are under 5ft too

She is adding a bit of size. It is enough to tell and as you know, seeing them every day, we dont usually really see the growth rate like others do. She is 442 grams now.
