    Usually call them Ball Pythons, but recently Paarthurnax has taken up the nickname as the house "Lap Sausage".

    I call them ball pythons, though I hate the name and much prefer royal python.

    My kids call them "meep-moops".

    I almost sprayed my computer monitor with the coffee in my mouth when I read them described as "attack sausages!" lololol

    But they've always been, and always will be, Royals to me.

    I like the Royal name, however for ease of communication here in the States I call them Ball Pythons.

    Considering python regius is the proper name, I much prefer Royal Python. Ball python does sound like a cute, fun pet though, and that was my thought when I first heard of this species.
