BP likes to ooze out from under hides

“The oozing” means their hide is too small

I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding here, I wasn't very clear by what I meant when I said I see him doing this. I didn't mean this as something that he does constantly, just a lot more than I've seen from my adult BP, i.e. never, who does a lot more cage renovation of shoving hides around by himself. I check 5 or 6 times a day and only see this maybe once in 2 to 3 days and not at all until 2+ days after a feed. He definitely still fits into the hide. Pic from just a minute ago with no oozing. (Usually don't bother taking pics of what looks like an empty hide. The bare spot has tape under the enclosure so I can get a better reading with the temp gun)

He's definitely getting close to an upgrade, but I dont think its quite time yet with the way he fits usually and his current food type change as I explained before. I was planning to swap hides in the next month after I'm sure he's reliable taking the rats (probably 2 to 3 feedings starting tomorrow).

I think we'll need too agree to disagree temporarily on the sizes since he isn't having any of the stress symptoms or reactions to insufficient hides (particularly, not eating regularly). This wasn't posted looking for advice, just something I thought folks would get a grin out of.

Pucture quality kinda stinks, but this is Tyson oozing. I added a second water bowl at the beginning of winter to help with humidity. It just sits on top of his RBI hide on the cool side. I have to agree.

We introduced medium RBI hides when our pastel banana boy, Spagooder, was around 200 grams but he didn't give up his small RBI hides until he was over 350 grams. After a big meal he looked like he was wearing a hat.

As ridiculous as it seemed, his behavior and health were unaffected.

Mine does it almost every time I lift up the hide to check on him. He'll spread and then I just kind of have to set the hide back on top of him and see if he'll eventually bother to scooch himself back in. Very funny.

I've long since just swapped out his hides to the mediums. He is very fond of these as well (though I didn't have space to put 2 new and his old in at the same time). These days. I frequently get inspected when I come into the room.
