And since you are "just" a person who has no respect for the prey/predator dynamic and takes a seemingly sad thrill from describing it then you are "just" a person I wouldn't wish to know so I shall "just" not bother to read threads by you in the future.

somebody should call animal control and take his snake away from him. it would be funny if some hungry animal came over and killed you slowly before he ate you huh phantom? people like you should not even own animals.

Let's not turn this into a personal attack.

I do find the natural hunting instinct interesting as well. I don't take sadistic pleasure in watching a rodent being killed by a snake, but I can't say it isn't interesting to watch. From what he has said, Phantom has done nothing abusive to his snake, so don't blow this out of proportion.

i find watching my snake eat live interesting too, because it happens in nature that way. but i would never post something like phantom did. talking about(in detail) how the rat died, and saying that he has no respect for the rat. i think it is sick how he takes pleasure in watching the rat slowly die. and for the record i feed my snakes prekilled now for the last 2 weeks for the reason that the rat doesnt suffer like that, even though i do think its interesting i dont see why rat has to suffer like that if it doesnt have too.

I feed live to some of my snakes for the simple fact that the darn things won't take f/t! Most of my snakes take f/t. I prefer humanely euthanizing with Co2, but I do not consider it cruel to feed live. It is what happens in nature. Yes, we can prevent it in many cases by feeding pre killed, but it doesn't always work that way.

i was just saying what i said because he ranted about not having respect for the rat. every living creature deserves respect. all "pets" have a downside to them. fish are beautiful but you have to have the correct water parameters. dogs are a blast but some shed enough fur to make another dog. snakes have to be fed other animals and that is the ony downside to them. i just think that a rat is not just a rat. it is a living being but is there to supply our snakes for health. i have kept rats as pets and they are one of the most intelligent creatures out there. friendly, curious, just like a small dog. i am not thrashing him for no reason its just that what he said seemed careless and inconsiderate. i also find it very interesting to see a snake take a live rat but thats where it stops. i understand that there is a circle of life and we has herpers just help one portion of it along. it is not a sort of entertainment.

Shelby, cmon now..There is a difference between enjoying the natural hunting instinct and trolling on a message board by describing how it died and how much he enjoyed it. While he has done nothing abusive, I dont think people are blowing anything out of proportion. He has done enough to upset a few people and probably has some deep seated mental issues.

I would never derive pleasure from the slow, painful death of another creature.

I know.. I just said that.

Yes, they have upset people. I realise that. Just don't stoop to troll level and start name calling and whatnot.

    That's all I'm saying.
