So Vaida did not eat yesterday, which I am not surprised about - she is shy still since she only arrived on Tuesday. She discovered that under her water bowl is a great hide, but likes to alternate between that and her two "real" hides as well!! I wish I had some more pictures, but I'm trying not to handle her until she's eaten several times for me. Fingers crossed for next week!

Just curious and not trying to steal the thread at all.

Vaida is awesome. I cannot wait for more pictures as she grows.

I am more than happy to learn about these things, so there's no such thing as thread stealing to me [emoji23]
I understand human genetics very well so snake genetics are of great interest to me!

I weighed her today, she came in at 189g! She has not eaten for me yet (2 weeks) which is a bit of a bummer.

What are you trying to feed F/T? If so Id just give her a correct size live so she has eaten for you.. Then try later.. If you already said what you were feeding and I missed it ignore this, ive been out in the snow since 4:30am and im so beat I feel drunk lol.

Lol it's alright! I'm feeding her live adult mice, she last ate from the breeder on 16feb18 but hasn't eaten for me yet (I've had her since 20feb18). Set up is identical to my banana who is a voracious feeder... I did discover she shed though so I'm wondering if she didn't eat last week because of the stress of shipping and maybe she didn't eat this week because of the stress of shedding? I weighed her today to start keeping track and she is 189g. I am a bit nervous she's not eating at that weight.

Yup thats it.. Mine take the entire 2-3 weeks off each shed. I have the Albino that eats like a nut and my BEL is a pain in the butt.. She actually sits face to face with the rat smelling it and pushing her nose in its fur then goes back in her hide, then comes back out. Does this 3-4 times before she finally eats. Drives me crazy and takes forever.

Yup she poked her head out and looked at it but in the end wanted nothing to do with it. I'll try again next week. I'm leaving the mouse in the same room for good measure lol

My rats are all in the same room as snakes. I think they are use to the smell because it doesn't faze them.
