Have you ever been to Vulcan park? You're a good distance so probably not but earlier that day I had visited the Vulcan statue which has a high balcany, and I legitimately thought I was going to fly off. I'm amazed they let me up.

That day was CRAZY !!! I still can't believe my family actually flew in, in that mess, and then rented a car and drove the 40 minutes to my house through all this...sheesh !!

Holy crap flying and driving I'm amazed they're ok. I'm brave but not that brave. The second a tornado hits the ground I'm taking my reptiles and heading for cover.

Remember April 27 2011 ? We had 394 confirmed Tornadoes throughout the south east (Alabama got the worst)..15 of them severe (F4 and F5) IN ONE DAY!
Unbeknownst to me, my Mother and Brother were flying in THAT DAY (from Germany) to surprise me on my birthday !!
If I had known they were on the way, flying through that mess, I would have been frantic with worry. They barely made it, with flights cancelled left and right and even the car rental about to close shop that evening..They had quite the exciting trip ;)
did they bring u a snake w/ them on the plane? ;)
but on the real, tornadoes are super scary. they showup w/o warning and they lay waste to anything and everything that's in their path. we get earthquakes and have volcanoes in my neck of the woods but i still do not want a direct hit from a tornado. stay safe!

You could send some of that weather here. Weather in Arizona is so boring. 80s for a high and 50s for a low. Very little wind, storms, and rain until July. We honestly have two seasons; fall and summer lol.:sunny:

Yeah, I hate tornadoes. We've been so lucky, but we get them right by our town every year. I always feel like its just a matter of time...and of course no one has basements around here !! Really should have a company come and install one of those underground shelters...

No, you really do not want this weather..
It wipes out entire towns, just flat out. Rips kids from parents arms. Lifts cars up into the air. It really is THAT bad...
I would love boring weather!!! :)

Re: First Tornado warning of the year...
I'd like warm weather year round so I could keep reptiles outside. And yeah the weather here sucks. Alabama doesn't have as many tornadoes as some states but has the most fatalities because of trailer parks, and it doesn't prepare itself well enough.

Up here in the mountains of Colorado we don't ever have tornados or earthquakes. But we do have massive fast moving forest fires. We had one last year when the wind was gusting over 80 MPH. The fire was twice as high as the highest trees and would blow through the forest faster than a person could run. It was so hot and fast it even melted cars right to the ground to where you couldn't even tell there was a car there. I saw it on my way home on my left over the mountaintop as I was driving, luckily my house was on the right side of the road. It lit up the sky for about 40 miles all along the highway, I saw the fire dept. guys just standing around at the station, it was so big and hot and moving so fast there was nothing they could do. And the wind was blowing so hard I could hardly keep my car on the road. There was a story about a guy who bought a fire truck and was going to try to fight off the fire by his house by himself but when he saw the fire coming so big and fast he ditched the fire truck and sped away in his car. Scary stuff.

Wild Fires can be absolutely devastating and scary as all that. It almost feels as if the fire has a life of itself. Last year was horrible. I can't imagine being a livestock owner and having to leave all my animals behind, because there just isn't time...
I saw footage where a big Thoroughbred farm released all the horses, as they ran around in a panic, one mare ran back into her stall. Her trainer went after her and both were burned badly by a ball of fire just jumping over the wall. Both made it, but they are quite scarred up.
